On the 17th of July the King Speech outlined the state opening of parliament. Is it all just pomp and does anyone actually know what Black Rod is actually up to?
When you sift through pomp you realise that the 40 bills outlined by the King are the government’s priorities for the next parliamentary session.
What does that mean for First Time Buyers?
Starmer’s government have made it pretty clear that the Property sector and First Time Buyers will be an important focus.
Out of the forty bills outlined we see thePlanning & Infrastructure Bill and the Renters’ Rights Bill playing animportant role for First Time Buyers.
In the UK our demand for housing outstrips the supply. The ambitions of the Planning and Infrastructure bill do give us causefor optimism by setting “out to unlock more housing and infrastructure across the country, supporting economic growth as well as the environment.”
To strike a slightly more sombre tone, these are ambitions that many a government have tried to tackle and are yet to besuccessful, but we welcome the governments renewed focus.
